can you hook up an ethernet cable to a phone jack?
Yes, ethernet wire has 4 pairs of wires. green, orange, brown and blue. each color has a stripe with cable. for example green has a green/white strip cable and blue has a blue/white strip cable and so on. the only difference is phone lines use 2 wires and ethernet/data uses 8 wires. you can use any of the colors scheme for phone just make sure the other end of the cable uses the same color scheme has well.
